IT TAKES A VILLAGE
If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. ~ African proverb
Since our 1st Annual 100 Dresses for Little dresses for Africa Project in 2015, we've increasingly recognized the importance of building a team and maximizing resources in order to be as efficient as possible. In this instance greater efficiency will equate to the making or more clothing which will in turn benefit more children.
We have teamed up with two NYC charter schools, New Heights Academy Charter School in Harlem NY and Fahari Academy Charter School in Brooklyn NY. Student volunteers at each school will assist with the prep work for the 100 Dresses for Little Dresses for Africa Project this June.
During the month of May and early June a prep session will be hosted on a designated day at each charter school. Students will have the opportunity to earn community service hours by assisting with things like organizing materials and cutting fabric. This prep work will give volunteers for the main event on 6.25.16 a head-start and the ability to produce more clothing.
It indeed takes a village. Read more about this project and event here.
